Guy Peellaert is an unusual inventor of images; a creator of revolutionary

and transgressive visual stories that are ambiguously positioned between credibility and absurdity.

Having studied art in Brussels, he then worked as a set designer in the theatre,

publishing his first comic-strip story,  ‘Les adventures des Jodelle’ in 1996.

The following year saw the creation of his character ‘Pravda la Survireuse’ (Pravda the Misfit),

thereby becoming one of the first French comics to combine eroticism with pop culture

in a pyrotechnic sequence of situations.

Peellaert draws inspiration from Françoise Hardy in the image of his heroine:

she is a mordern amazonian woman dressed in leather and rides a powerful motorbike.

Pravda’s adventures take place in a futuristic city populated by degenerate versions of the human race.
